night of the wolf

my vision for an Originals spin-off, requested by msklausmikaelson

Logline: Contemporary NYC- a wealthy, manipulative family is harbouring a dark secret of their own; a secret that, if revealed, would mean there would be hell to pay… literally. -Original
Structure of the series: Mini-series, with three seasons, airing on HBO. Each episode is set in the 21st century, but most include flashbacks to previous times.
Lead cast:
Daniel Gillies as Elijah Original: Elijah is the president of the family company, which consists mostly of real estate holdings and working the stock market using inside tips. Elijah is struggling to hold it all together, as his playboy brother Kol wreaks havoc on the corporate identity after a large scandal is revealed in episode 1x01. He is also trying to learn to trust Niklaus again, and, perhaps learn to trust his own heart?
Joseph Morgan as Klaus Original: Klaus is the face of the company, and is constantly butting heads with his younger sister Rebekah, with whom he shares a penthouse. Since he is no longer able to create any vampires, he relies on Rebekah to turn those humans he finds valuable, but she is chafing under those obligations. How can Klaus convince his family to trust him again, when he still has so many secrets from the past left to be revealed? Stakes are higher than ever for Klaus, now that they have a global identity and are no longer low-profile. Can he protect his family from their greatest threat…himself?
Claire Holt as Rebekah Original: Rebekah revels in the structure of their new life. She finally has a home, her family, and security. Now if only she could have some excitement. When an old friend from the past, played by Phoebe Tonkin, comes to NYC to seek her out, all hell breaks loose.
Nathaniel Buzolic as Kol: Kol appears mainly through flashbacks, but does make guest appearances in the 21st century as well. Kol would not agree to living quietly, and as such is given access to his own Swiss bank account, under the promise that he should not ever try to acknowledge the Original corporate family as his own. Niklaus makes another pact with the brother, allowing Kol to visit his home to see their sister without Elijah knowing, so long as Kol keeps a few choice secrets of the past to himself… Unfortunately, Kol isn’t usually very good at following the rules. What will happen when he breaks them? Finally, the audience finds out why Niklaus and Elijah fear their younger sibling, and why Rebekah is so close to him.
Special appearances by the characters Mikael, Esther, Henrik, Finn, Sage, and Tatia also occur. New characters include an as-yet uncast female, mid thirties, who seeks a position on the board of  Original corp and isn’t all that she appears.  Also, Ben Barnes will play a former love interest of Rebekah’s, who she believes died fighting in the Crusades… but did he?

Anonymous asked: "Yesterday I read this fanfic about elijah and Elena after 3x22, and it started with a scene where Elijah told Rebekah she was dead to him, while Rebekah was crying and begging him to forgive her. I stopped reading after that, I really couldn't stand the way it portrayed Elijah (and Rebekah). I'm a little woried though that something like this might happen on the show, given what JP has been saying in interviews. :S Please talk about the Original's unshakable bond to reassure me? <3"

omfg, Elijah would NEVER do that (but all is fair in love and fanfics lol)

He swore an oath to her. His word is his bond. Even if he hated Rebekah, even if she was absolute FILTH to him, he would stand by her. All he has is his oath. His honour. Even if someone would be ridiculous enough to say that he would ever disown his family, it is equally ludicrous to say he would give up that old world mentality that the man literally runs on.

Elijah was willing to commit fratricide to avenge the crimes done against the rest of his family. The idea of killing your own blood? Disgusts him to the core (let me cite 3x15). But he was willing to do it, because honour called for it. “In the name of our family, Niklaus-” he said before digging his hand into his brother’s chest.

Family. Above. All.

He stood over his mothers grave and swore fealty to Niklaus, and to Rebekah, really. They clasped hands and gave their word, to never turn their backs on each other.

So the mere notion that Elijah would ever, ever, ever tell Rebekah she was “dead to him” and disown her?

Besides, we all know that Julie Plec is not a reliable source for foretelling reactions in future episodes. She’s practically her own unreliable narrator. Did anyone think that 3x22 was epic? no? crickets?  We were also told that Rebekah would get back at Klaus following 3x13. Did that happen? Because I seem to recall her practically apologising to him. Continuity? Where is it? lol. He most likely won’t even be around in the first ep. Even if he is, if anyone can understand killing people to save your family it is Elijah. Besides, Plec also said that the writers weren’t even sure if Elijah sanctioned the kill. For all we know? He sent her

favourite elejah scenes [1/2]
→ “I believe we have a little catching up to do.”

I’m gonna go all analytical on this so feel free to erase this if you just want to reblog the gif or whatever.

Anyways, the reason why I love this scene so muh uh uch, is because the fact that it’s Elijah sticking up for Elena, against his own family. I mean, we all get that Elijah has this inevitable bond with his siblings and how he’d go to the ends of the Earth for them but here, Elena’s safety and survival is his number one priority. It’s his admirable loyalty towards Elena that really gets to me and just this emphasis on the idea of him being genuinely drawn to her.

And when Rebekah, his own sister, remarks how pathetic he is, he doesn’t even feel sorry but simply turns his head away from the sight of her almost like he’s thinking, “Please…” . He’s been looked down upon by Klaus when he showed an ounce of care for Katerina and here, he’s been looked down upon by Rebekah. You’d think he’d learnt his lesson but he doesn’t allow that notion to barricade him from protecting a miracle of a human such as Elena. He could care less what Rebekah thought of him but when she called Elena pathetic as to ‘both of you’ he loses that smug or ‘whatever’ feeling and instantly turned his head to her direction, showing that he cared what his sister said to her.

Shortly after all the seriousness, Elijah faces Elena as if no confrontation ever happened before that and smiles like a pubescent teenager. It’s so adorable and yet so subtle.

Because I’m feeling confrontational:

“He could care less what Rebekah thought of him(…) “

So, that doesn’t make sense for two glaring reasons

  1. If he could care less then what does the rest of that sentence mean
  2. Rebekah is more important to him than Elena, and he cares about her opinion

I actually like these two, but it is a disservice to Elijah when people think that anything is more important to him than his family, or say that he doesn’t care about them (because I assume the OP meant he couldn’t care less). I don’t care if anyone ships Elejah even harder than Daniel Gillies (is that possible? lol) but I do care if they unravel his most blatant character attributes in order to project something else on to him. I think an important aspect of this scene is how well Elijah and Rebekah know each other, and how deep their connection is. Elijah knows Rebekah well enough to follow her, and Rebekah knows Elijah well enough that she only needs to watch him with Elena for mere seconds to know that he values the doppleganger, like before. They know each others patterns, and they value each other. Elijah caring for Elena doesn’t somehow negate 1000 years of loving Rebekah and vowing to always be on her side.

If anything, as an Elejah shipper, it would be beneficial to highlight the deep connection Elijah has with his sister and brothers. He is willing to look out for Elena even if she hates his family, because he understands her reasoning and they share that willingness to kill for their own families. By ignoring how much Elijah cares for and values Rebekah, you are also ignoring that part of Elijah’s affections towards Elena and how interesting that is.

Elijah’s family is and always will be his number one priority. He feels that Elena understands this, and that is a great thing between them.

Can we still give you fanfic ideas? How about after he daggers Rebekah, Klaus celebrates his birthday, and because he is a creepy (lonely) mf, he sits there surrounded by open coffins and like puts down cake for everyone. (or he like throws birthday parties for a daggered Rebekah each year, both would be equally awesome/creepy)
Absolutely you can. Great prompt! I actually totally believe he hangs out with her, since we’ve seen him stroke her coffin several times like an absolute CREEPER lol.
Teaser: Niklaus has always been a fan of birthdays, but just not in the way one would expect.

Doesn’t have to be smut. The last time Elijah saw Rebekah before Klaus daggered her. (and maybe it’s also the last time he sees Klaus before season 2?). I would love to see this. ;)
Great prompt! LOL no smut for Elijah. It’s bitter, so I hope you enjoy Elijah’s pov!

"

And about Elijah sending Rebekah to get Klaus. I honestly think he did that because he thought it would be safer. As far as he knew Alaric didn’t know where Damon had Klaus’ body.

Elijah was going to meet Alaric at the spot where Jeremy told him Klaus’ body was, remember? So I think he intended to face off with Alaric himself while his sister got their brother.

I think he was trying to give her the safer job actually. To protect her.
